The Learning Gate

The Learning Gate, An Association of Child Care Centers is a private, non-profit organization.  Since 1968 we have actively served the community.

The learning Gate is licensed by the New Jersey Department of Human Services and operates within strict compliance of licensing standards.  We are governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees consisting of parents, staff and community members.  We welcome Board participation by interested members of our community.

Through our 40 year history, our mission has been to provide quiality, affordable child care for the families of our community.  Our programs offer child care for over 165 children daily at our two locations, 816 Old York Rd., Raritan, and 120 Finderne Ave., Bridgewater.  We provide care for children ages six through Kindergarten.

Our philosophy is based on the principle that each child is a unique individual and a very special person.  We believe that children are our most precious resource, and that the early years are the most significant in human development.  We strive to provide a "home away from home" environment for all of our children.

We use a holistic approach to learning, as the children learn through hands on experiences.  Our programs are designed to nurture the physical, intellectual and social/emotional needs of each child.  "Every child is different, and develops at different stages in different ways - what works for one child will not necessarily be the best for another."  - Anne McIntosh
